Vienna final Conference

The European Care Certificate (ECC) project results will be presented on the 16th of September in Vienna. The ECC is a transnational system for the recognition and implementation of an entry level certificate for social care staff in Europe.

The European Care Certificate recognises that its holder has the basic knowledge considered essential to start working in the care sector The ECC has been developed with Leonardo da Vinci funding using experience and expertise from a number of organisations in the social care sector in six countries of the European Union: Austria, Belgium, Germany, Portugal, Romania and the United Kingdom.

The results of the project, that started on November 2006, will be presented in the final project conference that will take place the 16th of September 2008 in Vienna.

The conference will present:
• Project-results: What we have achieved in the ECC-project.
• Best practice for delivering the ECC in Europe.
• ECC materials: How you can use ECC or become an ECC-partner?
• Future goals and further development of ECC.

This conference will be of interest to people related to the social care ambit, especially:
• Executives from social care service providers.
• Training providers in social care, educational and training institutions.
• Politicians and representatives from local and European government bodies.
• Workers and students in the social care sector.
• Agencies which regulate services and/or register the work force in social care
• Experts in social care.
